Guest Information

Before arrival, we will email you local recommendations and complete directions to your TreeHouse Retreat. We pride ourselves on being eco-friendly and try to minimise paper waste, so we don’t print and distribute brochures.

Upon arrival, you’ll find a comprehensive treehouse guide containing key information for your stay, including health and safety details, waste disposal instructions, emergency contacts, and departure procedures. This guide also includes useful local insights.

Guests with pacemakers should avoid using the induction hobs within our accommodation as they may interfere with the device.

If you have allergies, please let us know before your stay so we can accommodate them where possible.

Wildlife & Noise

Please be respectful of wildlife and other guests. Sound carries far in the woodland, particularly at night, so we ask that noise levels be kept low.

Fires, BBQs & Fireworks

As part of the South Downs National Park, open fires and BBQs are not permitted. Fireworks and pyrotechnics must not be used anywhere on or near the property.

Candles & No-Smoking Policy

Candles are not permitted within the property or grounds for safety reasons.

Smoking is not allowed inside the property. If smoking outside, please dispose of cigarette ends responsibly using the provided sand-filled buckets.

Accidents & Breakages

Each treehouse undergoes a thorough inspection before arrival to maintain high standards. If you notice any issues upon arrival, please alert your treehouse host immediately.

We understand that accidents happen! If any breakages occur during your stay, please notify our host as soon as possible so replacements can be arranged ahead of the next changeover.

Dogs – Rules and Safety

  • Maximum of two small to medium-sized dogs per treehouse (£40 per dog, per stay).

  • The woodland is only partially fenced—please keep dogs under control.

  • Livestock and horses are present on the estate; please be considerate.

  • Guests are responsible for their dogs’ safety and behaviour at all times.

  • Dog waste must be bagged and disposed of in the designated bins.

  • Dogs must not be left alone in the treehouse.

  • Please bring your own towels & blankets for your dog—treehouse towels must not be used for pets.

Electric Buggies

  • Our Cowdray location is car-free. Upon arrival, guests park at the Welcome Suite and have the option to hire an electric buggy for easy access to their treehouse and Cowdray’s amenities.

  • Buggies are available for £35 per stay and can be added during the booking process. This fee covers insurance, charging, and maintenance.

  • Drivers must be over 18 and hold at least a provisional driving licence.

  • Buggies must be driven sensibly and only used on designated routes.

  • A GPS tracker ensures that buggies function only within approved areas to protect the heritage landscape.

Booking and Payment

  • A 30% deposit is required at the time of booking.

  • The remaining balance is due 35 days before arrival. If payment is not made by the deadline, TreeHouse Retreats reserves the right to cancel the booking, and the deposit will be forfeited.

  • If card details are stored on file, TreeHouse Retreats will automatically deduct the balance from the card on the due date.

  • A refundable £250 security deposit is required upon final payment. This will be refunded within 7 working days after departure, provided no damage is reported.

  • Payments must be made in GBP (£).

  • Surcharges:

    • Extra child (single chair bed): £50 per stay

    • Buggy hire: £35 per stay

    • Late checkout (until 14:00): £75 (by request, subject to availability)

    • Early arrival (from 10:00): £75 (by request, subject to availability)

    • Check-in is available between 15:00 - 19:00. No staff are available after 19:00.

Cancellation Policy

  • Full refund if cancelled within 24 hours of booking.

  • Full refund if cancelled up to 8 weeks before arrival.

  • After this period, full payment will be retained in the event of cancellation.

Extras & Upgrade Your Stay

  • Advance Notice: All extras must be ordered at least 72 hours before arrival.

  • Substitutions: While we strive to provide all advertised items, we reserve the right to substitute any item with an equivalent alternative if unavailable.

  • Invoices: Any extras purchased through our website will not be itemised on your final invoice.

  • Refunds & Cancellations: Extras can be cancelled for a refund up to 72 hours before arrival.

Gift Cards

  • TreeHouse Retreats Gift Cards are not credit or charge cards and are issued via email.

  • Gift cards are valid for 12 months from purchase.

  • Minimum purchase amount: £100.

  • Gift cards can be used towards stays and extras but must be redeemed manually by emailing hello@treehouseretreats.com.

  • Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

  • Purchases made using a gift card are subject to our standard refund policies.

Special Offers & Vouchers

  • £100 Extras Voucher: Valid for bookings made between 20 December 2024 - 31 January 2025. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Minimum spend: £100. Must be redeemed before 7.02.25

  • £25 Extras Voucher: Exclusive to new email subscribers. Must be used within 4 weeks of signing up with the code received in the welcome email.

Weather Policy

Outdoor baths may not be available during sub-zero temperatures. If extreme weather impacts your stay, we will notify you in advance and make reasonable adjustments where possible.
